Factors That Affect Your Ring Size Reading

  • Time of day: Fingers run smaller in the morning and swell as the day goes on. Measure in the evening if you want the size you'll actually live with day to day.
  • Temperature: Cold shrinks fingers; heat and humidity do the opposite. Skip measuring right after you've been out in freezing weather or straight out of a hot shower.
  • Dominant hand: The fingers on your dominant hand tend to run slightly bigger than the other hand's.
